Seated Tai Chi

Jian Taiji have created a program of seated Taiji exercises for people with reduced mobility due to age, illness or physical or mental incapacity.

All the exercises still keep the Taiji principles at their heart and so offer the related benefits to people who may not be able to participate in a standing class. We include silk reeling and chi gong exercises along with movements from the Taiji form tailored to suit the students levels of fitness and ability, and even though they are seated classes they are still designed to  give the whole body a gentle workout.

Lily Thomas Court Taiji group

We have successfully provided classes for various groups and organisations including Manchester City Council Day Centres, The New Roundhouse, Zest, Manchester Learning Disability Partnership, Eastlands Homes, Lytham Hospital Day Patients, Age Concern and other sheltered housing associations.

If you would like to know more about what we can offer, please get in touch and we would be happy to discuss your requirements.

Customer feedback

Ian and Jan have been leading this class at Eric Hobin for approx. 2yrs.

Over this time we have witnessed many people enjoying these sessions. Our customers who are older and vulnerable have grown in confidence and their general health & wellbeing has improved.

They feel that it has helped their mobility and feel it has made them more flexible and generally improved their overall fitness levels.

Kind Regards,
